Classifiers

Classifiers are important equipment in the mining and processing industry, designed to separate materials by size and degree of crushing.

Swinging Screen for Sifting

The advanced technology of the drum screener is ideal for screening fine and ultra-fine dry materials of all types due to the vibration movement.

The drum screener uses an elliptical motion that effectively sorts even the finest materials. The fine particles remain closer to the center, while the larger ones are released to the outside.

Applications and benefits

Drum screening machine is used in mining, pharmaceutical, chemical, food, metallurgy, recycling and related industries to sort small, heavy, light, dry and dusty materials with a size of less than a millimeter.
  • A container with different outlets at each sorting level allows for easy management of the process.
  • High sieving performance, allowing even coarse products to be processed with fine separation.
  • Stability of sorting performance compared with other types of vibrating sorting machines.
  • Stable screen movement that ensures ultra-thin material is reached even under full load.
Centrifugal classifier Fineplex KFS
The deflector wheel classifier is designed for medium and fine separation with a particle size of approximately d97=20–200 μm.

Fineplex is an economical classifier, characterized by high cutting accuracy, significant output of fine fraction, low energy consumption and ease of adjustment. The cutting point can be adjusted using a frequency converter depending on the speed of the classifying wheel.

Operating modes of the KFS classifier: Through - air mode, Contour - air mode with approximately 10% air leakage.

Main functions:

  • Gravity feed of product
  • High cutting accuracy even at high feed rates (up to 2 kg of product per cubic meter of classifying air)
  • Easy-to-maintain design
  • Various classifying wheels for coarse and fine separation
  • The blower fan is designed to create an air barrier that effectively separates fine and coarse products

Application
  • Feldspar, Quartz, Nepheline, Wollastonite, Calcium Carbonate
  • Bulk Chemicals, Salt, Sodium Carbonate, Protein Shift, Wheat Flour, Soybean
Fineplex KFS is available in a specialised design for handling products prone to deposition such as slaked lime.
Centrifugal Classifier HTP
The Ultraplex HTP single-rotor classifier works in combination with one cyclone/filter and a fan package, providing a cost-effective way to achieve ultra-fine separation at high throughput. Depending on the final product size, feed material and machine size, the Ultraplex classifiers have feed rates ranging from 150 to 30,000 kg/h.

Due to their high throughput, the Ultraplex multi-wheel classifiers can be combined efficiently with mills of a corresponding size.

Operating modes of the KFS classifier: Through - air mode, Contour - air mode with approximately 10% air leakage.

Specifications:

The Turboplex single-rotor classifier is virtually unrivalled in terms of adaptation to the requirements of real-life operation:
  • Simple and robust design reduces maintenance and repair costs.
  • The horizontal arrangement of the classifying wheel minimises wear, even when working with abrasive materials, ensuring a long service life.
  • When processing particularly abrasive products, the protective lining prevents excessive wear.
  • Compact dimensions require minimal space.
  • High output fraction of fine particles.
  • Clear upper particle size limitation.
  • Stable operation even with fluctuating feed.
  • Long service life.
  • Prevention of plaque formation, for example when classifying CaCO3.
  • Convenient adjustment of the flushing gap.
  • Possibility of setting a narrow flushing gap.
  • Vibration-free operation.

Scope of application
KTP Multi-Wheel Classifiers, specially designed for ultra-fine classification operations, are ideal for handling metal powders, mineral powders, abrasives and toner residues.
Construction:

All HTP single and multi-wheel classifiers are available in carbon steel, stainless steel and wear-protected versions, allowing them to be tailored to specific applications. The materials and wear protection systems used are tailored to each application. For the pharmaceutical industry, HTP is made of stainless steel.

For use in explosive material handling applications, in addition to the standard machine design, all classifiers in the range, with the exception of the 750 HTP and 1000 HTP, are available in a blast pressure resistant version with a 10 bar overpressure limit.

Multi Rotor Centrifugal Classifier KTP
The Ultraplex Multi-Rotor Classifier works in combination with one cyclone/filter and a fan package to provide an economical way to achieve ultra-fine separation at high throughput. Depending on the final product size, feed material and machine size, the feed rate of the Ultraplex classifiers ranges from 150 to 30,000 kg/h.

Due to their high throughput, the Ultraplex Multi-Rotor Classifiers can be combined effectively with mills of a corresponding size.

Scope of application
KTP Multi Rotor Classifiers, specially designed for ultra-fine classification operations, are ideal for handling metal powders, mineral powders, abrasives and toner residues.

Super thin air classifier
The TTH classifier uses advanced technology to produce ultra-fine turbo hybrid classifiers that fully meet the highest requirements for ultra-fine fraction products. The special design of the turbo hybrid rotor systems allows for classifiers with a large diameter and length.

With the KSFC, we can increase the speed to 105 m/s, which ensures high productivity and an optimal distribution curve.

Advantages:

  • Very clear cut-off points at maximum outputs.
  • Possibility of increasing rotor speeds up to 105 m/s.
  • Cut-off point up to d98.
  • Production of ultra-fine materials on an industrial scale, which was previously only possible with wet processing and drying.
  • Fast return on investment.
  • The special design of the blades allows the KSFC classifier to achieve a lower rotor speed than the latest models.
  • Low operating costs and easy maintenance.
  • Double outlet reduces pressure loss and saves more than 40% on energy costs.
  • Dynamic air seal adapted to the rotor speed minimizes the risk of contamination by large particles.
Application areas:
KSFC classifier is designed for classifying ultra-fine industrial and mineral materials such as calcium carbonate, dolomite, chalk, kaolin, graphite, talc, toner and similar products.
